Services / 02

The plant network, built and kept like production equipment.

Program transfer that works every time, structured cabling, and the servers, DNS and firewalls behind the floor, set up by someone who also runs the machines.

01 //

Sound familiar?

  • Programs still walk to the machine on a USB stick.
  • A network that grew by accident, with no map and no labels.
  • Dropped connections on the floor that nobody can trace.
  • An IT provider who is good with offices and lost in front of a CNC control.
02 //

What you get

  • DNC transfer that works: RS-232 wiring, baud rate, 8N1 and XON/XOFF sorted out and written down.
  • CAT6 and fiber runs terminated, tested on all eight conductors, and labelled.
  • A network map and a plain-language record of how it is set up.
  • Firewall, VPN, DNS, DHCP and server configuration straightened out and documented.

How it works

  1. 01

    Describe the symptom

What drops, what is slow, or what you want connected.

  2. 02

    Walk-through and quote

On site or over a call. You get a punch list and a fixed price or an estimate.

  3. 03

    The work

Cabling and machine-side work on site. Server, firewall and DNS work on site or remote.

  4. 04

    Handover

You get the files and the notes. Programs, posts, queries, scripts and documents are yours to keep and maintain.

Network Walk-Through

A review of the floor network and machine connections. You get a map of what is there and a prioritised list of what to fix.

Done before

Plant network

A plant rewired to CAT6 with a fiber backbone

Planned it, bought it, terminated and tested every run, then linked a second rack about 250 ft away over fiber.

Machine connectivity

CNC program transfer that works every time

RS-232 links wired and configured between the machines and the network: baud rate, 8N1 and XON/XOFF sorted out once and written down.

When I am not the right fit

  • You need a staffed help desk around the clock.
  • Electrical power, structural or safety-system work. That belongs with licensed trades and a Professional Engineer.

Questions

Do you pull and terminate cable yourself?
Yes. I planned a plant-wide CAT6 upgrade and its fiber backbone, and terminated and tested the runs personally.
Will you work alongside our IT provider?
Yes. I usually cover the production side they are less familiar with, and leave them documentation they can use.
What do you need access to?
Only what the job requires, on your accounts and your terms. Access is handed back when the work is done.
